The 12th Peace Festival in the Peace Park organized by the China International Peace Foundation and the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation with the participation of the Embassies of Turkmenistan and Austria in China was held in the Chinese capital today. The event was held under the motto "Joining Efforts Along the Silk Road to Create Peace". Ambassadors and diplomats of foreign countries, representatives of international organizations, scientists and other invited guests took part in the festival.
The forum discussed key global issues of our time: conflict resolution, international governance, inter-civilizational interaction, cultural ties along the Silk Roads, youth development and international humanitarian support.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parahat Durdyev made a report, in which he noted the significance of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Confidence, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent Neutrality. The diplomat emphasized the importance of the principle of equal rights in the country's foreign policy course, referring to the philosophical heritage of Makhtymkuli Fraghi.
The Turkmen delegation organized a photo exposition and an exhibition of folk arts and crafts, presenting the works of Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, including publications in Chinese. The participants of the event were offered to taste dishes of the national Turkmen cuisine and confectionery products from Turkmen private entrepreneurs.
Within the framework of the festival, the current projects of the UNESCO Silk Roads Program were presented and the winners of the 2025 Silk Roads Youth Vision 2025 photo contest were announced.
