Seven new etraps have been established in Turkmenistan

The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree on the creation of seven new administrative units within the framework of implementation of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028". According to the document, new etraps with corresponding khakims were established in four velayats of the country. The Altyn Asyr etrap was established in the Akhal velayat, and the Garashsyzlyk and Gubadag etraps in the Dashoguz velayat.

The largest number of new administrative units appeared in Lebap velayat - three etraps: Farab, Dovletli and Garabekevul. Oguzkhan etrap was established in Mary velayat.

The khakimliki of all four velayats have been instructed to work out draft structures and staff schedules of the new administrative entities together with the three relevant ministries. The Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Ministry of Adalat will take part in the preparation of documents.

Finished projects should be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for further consideration. The administrative reform is aimed at improving the social and living conditions of residents of villages, settlements, etrap towns and etrap centers until 2028.
