Turkmenistan is studying the best practices of Estonia for the development of digital economy

From September 15 to 20, 2025, a study visit of the Turkmen delegation to Estonia took place within the framework of a joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the visit was to study the best practices of digital transformation. This is reported by MIC.

Representatives of Turkmenistan's key ministries received intensive training from leading Estonian experts. Special attention was paid to digital identity, cybersecurity, data management and the use of artificial intelligence in public services. Practical sessions included an introduction to cross-border solutions such as e-Residency and eID.

This initiative aims to strengthen national capacity to scale and optimize digital services in Turkmenistan. The experience gained will contribute to the development of the Interagency Electronic Interaction System (IES), which has already been successfully implemented in ten ministries of the country with UNDP support.
