Turkmenistan and the US discuss expansion of partnership on the margins of the UN General Assembly

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in New York on September 22. The talks were held within the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. It is reported Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The sides reviewed the current state and prospects of Turkmen-American relations. Special attention was paid to the development of economic partnership, in particular, cooperation in the investment and technological spheres. The participants of the meeting noted the important role of the Turkmen-American Business Council in expanding business ties between the two countries.

The conversation also touched upon topical issues on the international and regional agenda. The meeting confirmed the mutual interest in further strengthening the bilateral partnership in key areas of cooperation.
