On February 17, the head of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov. The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and regional economic development. In particular, they talked about growth of trade turnover in 2020 by 8.6%and the importance of joining efforts to save the Aral Sea and the rational use of water reserves.
During the meeting, the leader of the Turkmen nation shared with the head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry plans for the construction of a modern Tashkent park in Ashgabatwhich will become a kind of symbol of friendly relations between the two states.
The sides noted the readiness to further strengthen humanitarian ties, which are based on the cultural and spiritual unity of the fraternal peoples. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov cited one example of unification, which demonstrates Dashoguz region of our country, which is home to a large Uzbek diaspora.
