The construction of the TAPI gas pipeline was the main topic of the February 16 meeting between the head of Turkmenistan and Pakistan's newly appointed Ambassador Irfan Ahmed. Ambassador presented his credentials to Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and conveyed, on behalf of Pakistani leader Arif Alvi, his willingness to develop cooperation.
According to the diplomat, Islamabad seeks to rapid completion of joint projects - TAPI gas pipeline, power transmission line and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan FOCL. He stressed that their implementation will allow Strengthen the economic ties of participating countries. The initiatives of the head of Turkmenistan regarding the creation of transport and energy bridges are also important in this aspect.
The parties noted the need to develop interstate relations in the humanitarian sphere, culture and science.
