Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov spoke at a reception in Ashgabat in honor of U.S. Independence Day. This is reported by the Internet edition "TurkmenPortal.
In his speech, the Turkmen Foreign Minister noted the similarity of views of the two countries on many global and regional issues. He also emphasized that over the years of constructive diplomatic interaction, the United States and Turkmenistan have been able to achieve effective partnership in the cultural, humanitarian, political and economic spheres.
Rashid Meredov focused attention on the productive partnership of the two countries in the format of international organizations. The Foreign Minister thanked the U.S. Government for supporting Turkmenistan's initiatives within the UN framework and supporting the country's foreign policy based on the principles of permanent neutrality.
