Within the framework of the National Forest Program, an action on planting wild plants was held in the Kopetdag State Reserve of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online publication.
The participants planted more than 150 saplings of pistachio, almond and Turkmen juniper along the Bakhcha River and on the territory of the reserve. Fifty volunteers, including members of the Agrarian Party and representatives of the Department of Environmental Protection of the Akhal province, took part in the planting campaign.
In addition to planting saplings, the action participants cleaned up the river bank. Reserve foreman D. Seyitmukhammedov noted that saplings of local tree species will better adapt to the climate and soil and will contribute to the strengthening of the river banks.
