In Turkmenistan, the U.S. Agency for International Development and WHO conducted an extended assessment of the National Tuberculosis Prevention Program in accordance with the request of the country's Ministry of Health and Medical Industry. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
The large-scale study provided the basis for the creation of a National Strategic Plan for Tuberculosis Control for the period 2026-2030. It assessed therapeutic interventions, patient care, disease prevention, civil society engagement and multisectoral collaboration.
The results of WHO specialists' missions will be reflected in a report that will be submitted to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan to support efforts for effective TB prevention and control.
