Turkmenistan summarized the results of the National Study on micronutrients among women and children, which was conducted jointly by UNICEF and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan with the support of the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition. The large-scale study involved women of reproductive age and children aged 4 months to 4 years from 2,672 households in different parts of Turkmenistan. In the course of the study, experts collected data on the prevalence of various forms of micronutrient deficiency among women and children.
The data obtained made it possible to draw conclusions about a decrease in the prevalence of anemia among women of reproductive age, not pregnant, and children older than 6 months compared to the indicators of 2011.
