A conference on folk crafts was held in a Turkmen museum

The conference "Issues of formation of national crafts and world practice" was held in the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. This is reported by the Internet edition "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

The aim of the event was to popularize traditional crafts and different types of arts and crafts. An exhibition of samples of folk arts and crafts was organized on the margins of the conference.

During the conference, Jamilya Kurbanova, Head of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, made a speech. She familiarized the participants with the book "Turkmen Koshma" dedicated to the art of creating Turkmen felt carpets.

The next Folk Craft Conference will be held this fall. Plans are underway to create a Crafts Center.
