On the initiative of Turkmenistan, an event on sustainable transport was held in Geneva

On February 22, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, a side event entitled "Towards Sustainable Transport: Best Practices, Challenges and Solutions" was held within the framework of the 86th high-level session of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee in Geneva. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by more than 70 representatives of more than 40 countries. On the subject of the meeting, speeches were made by the heads of transport departments of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Iran, UNECE Deputy Executive Secretary D. Maryasin, Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union Umberto de Pretto and others.

During the speeches the role of Turkmenistan in the development of sustainable transport, as well as the initiatives of the Head of State in the sphere of creating favorable conditions for international cooperation in the transport sphere were highly appreciated.
