UNICEF and the Office of the Ombudsman in Turkmenistan held a series of workshops

UNICEF together with the Office of the Ombudsman in Turkmenistan held a series of seminars for civil servants of the country's velayats from May to June this year to raise awareness on the protection and promotion of children's rights within the framework of the Joint Work Plan for 2023. This is reported in a UNICEF press release.

The speakers emphasized the importance of monitoring for the protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, including children and people with disabilities.

Training events were held in the city of Annau in Akhal province, in the tourist zone "Avaza" in Balkan province and in the city of Mary in Mary province.

The seminars were attended by members of parliament, representatives of the khakimlik, prosecutor's office, court, police department, registry office, bar association, youth organization, women's union, schools, polyclinics and mass media.
