On July 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, which ended with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova, while the Venezuelan delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Tatiana Pugh Morena.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the bilateral agenda and reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements. The participants stated that cooperation is developing on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial partnership.
Myahri Byashimova noted the importance of bilateral contacts within the framework of various visits and international events to identify specific areas of cooperation.
The diplomats discussed the positive experience of interaction at international platforms, especially at the UN, where countries provide mutual support and co-sponsor international initiatives.
The parties expressed their desire to intensify trade and economic cooperation in energy, oil and gas industry, "green" technologies and agriculture. Prospects for the development of cultural and educational ties, including exchange of programs and joint projects, were also considered.
The participants of the consultations discussed the organization of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Venezuela.
The meeting resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
