Turkmenistan to propose ways to develop cooperation at ECO meeting

The 16th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization kicked off in Tashkent on Thursday, November 9. Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is taking part in the event and will make proposals on further development of cooperation within the ECO. This is reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan has been an active member of ECO since 1992 and has made a significant contribution to the development of multilateral partnership in the region. Over the years of work in the organization positive experience has been accumulated for further strengthening of economic ties.

In 2021 Turkmenistan chaired the ECO and held the 15th Summit in Ashgabat. A concept was adopted to update the activities of the organization taking into account the new realities. Turkmenistan's chairmanship contributed to the intensification of cooperation in various spheres.

Thus, the next ECO Summit will be a good platform for discussing topical issues and further strengthening regional economic interaction.
