Legacy of Turkmen poet discussed at conference in Russia

On April 10, the building of the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I.Rudomino hosted an international scientific conference entitled "Contribution of Turkmen poet, philosopher and thinker of the East Makhtumkuli Fraghi to the world literature" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation and the Rudomino All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature. The forum was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan and the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino. The forum was attended by cultural and artistic figures, literary figures, public figures, literary scholars and philologists of Turkmenistan and Russia, diplomats and media representatives.

During the forum the issues of increasing bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were discussed. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented the General Director of the Library P. Kuzmin with Makhtumkuli's books in different languages. Kuzmin with books by Makhtumkuli in different languages. In the course of the event, poems by Makhtumkuli were read out and songs to the poems of the great Turkmen poet were sung.

An exhibition of fine arts and crafts was organized in the lobby of the Oval Hall.
