Yesterday, January 16, 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the appointment of Begmurat Mukhamedov to the post of Prosecutor General of the country. This is reported by the State News Agency.
According to the text of the decree, Begmurat Mukhamedov, who has the qualification class of State Counselor of Justice 3rd class, will now head the Prosecutor's Office of Turkmenistan.
The appointment was made in accordance with article 71, paragraph 16 of the country's Constitution, which authorizes the President to appoint and dismiss the Prosecutor General.
The appointment will take effect immediately after the signing of the relevant decree by the head of state. Begmurat Mukhamedov is expected to supervise the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of Turkmenistan.
