Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan met with the Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Türkiye

On Tuesday, April 4, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Türkiye Rifat Hisarciklioglu. According to the state news agency "Turkmenistan Today", during the meeting the representatives of the two states discussed trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Türkiye and possible increase in trade volumes.

The parties discussed the Zero Waste initiative, which was previously raised at the UNGA session. An agreement was reached on further development of relations in the field of ecology. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the effectiveness of the dialog in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that the sides see potential in the development of bilateral relations in fuel and energy, transportation and communications, agriculture, food and textile industries, as well as in the sphere of high technologies.

Türkiye and Turkmenistan also have joint programs in the food sector and pharmaceuticals. It was emphasized at the meeting that rational use of land and water resources is of particular importance. Türkiye and Turkmenistan exchanged experience in this field.

Effective cooperation in the field of education was also noted, as evidenced by the established inter-university ties.
