Turkmen Ambassador Sapar Palvanov presents credentials to OPCW Director

On April 3, Turkmen Ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov presented his credentials to Fernando Arias, Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, as Turkmenistan's permanent representative to the OPCW. The official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports about the event held in The Hague.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan and the OPCW Director discussed the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Organization in the field of ensuring and managing chemical security.
The Turkmen side expressed readiness to hold joint conferences, trainings and seminars with the OPCW concerning the main activities of the Organization.

Fernando Arias, for his part, spoke about the main objectives of the Organization's activities. He emphasized that in the context of growth and change of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the control of production, storage, use and transparency of the circulation of chemicals play an important role.
