Turkmenistan's president congratulated Truss on his appointment as Britain's prime minister

President Serdar Berdymukhamedov sent a congratulatory telegram to Liz Truss on her assumption of the post of British Prime Minister. This was reported today by the news program "Vatan" of Turkmen television.

"In his message, the Turkmen leader praised the interstate dialogue and expressed his strong belief that Turkmen-British relations will continue to develop and strengthen for the benefit of the people of the two countries," the statement said.
