The President of Turkmenistan and the President of Switzerland discussed cooperation

During his working visit to the United States, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter. During the meeting, the leaders discussed issues of cooperation between the countries during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. It is reported Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

Switzerland and Turkmenistan adhere to the principles of neutrality in their international activities. The Presidents outlined points of contact in the areas of trade, investment, pharmaceuticals and green energy.

Cultural and humanitarian interaction plays an important role in strengthening relations between the countries. In the framework of the International Year of Peace and Confidence declared by the UN General Assembly at the suggestion of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted at the meeting that this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. On the occasion of this event, an international forum will be held in Ashgabat on December 12. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan invited Karin Keller-Sutter to participate in the event.

The President of Switzerland expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of the policy of neutrality pursued by Turkmenistan, as well as concrete initiatives to strengthen international dialogue and develop humanitarian cooperation.
