The President of Turkmenistan participated in the informal Summit of the CIS Heads of State

On December 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the informal Summit of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States in St. Petersburg, which is traditionally held on the eve of the New Year, TDH reports.

In the foyer of the Ice Palace of the Igora Winter Sports Games Complex, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Opening the informal CIS Summit in the Olympic Hall of the Ice Palace, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin once again warmly welcomed his foreign colleagues, expressing his gratitude to all for the accepted invitation to visit St. Petersburg to participate in the informal New Year's Eve Summit.

During the Summit, the results of the Commonwealth's activities for the current year were analyzed, priority areas of cooperation and tasks for the coming period were outlined. At the same time, positive indicators of economic partnership were noted with satisfaction. Current issues of the regional and global agenda were also the subject of an interested exchange of views.

This Summit has become yet another confirmation of the common aspiration of the CIS states to bring fruitful cooperation to a new level that meets modern realities and the existing impressive potential.

During the meeting, President Vladimir Putin invited the CIS heads of state to take part in next year's celebrations in Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Taking the opportunity, the Head of the Russian Federation also conveyed heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all citizens of the CIS countries on the occasion of the coming New Year.

An informal dinner was given in honor of the distinguished guests on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation.
