The President of Turkmenistan reviewed the progress of work in the agricultural sector of the country

On September 16, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhallyev and khakims of velayats at which the results of the current agricultural season were summarized and tasks for the future were set, TDH reports.

Khakims of velayats reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural works, including cotton harvesting and wheat sowing.

During the meeting, regional leaders informed the President of Turkmenistan about the fulfillment of the tasks set by the head of state to further strengthen food abundance in the country. It was noted that the fields sown with potatoes, vegetables and other crops are being tended and harvested.

It was also reported on the pace of construction of social and industrial facilities to be commissioned this year in the province in accordance with the National Program of the President of Turkmenistan on transformation of social and living conditions of the population of villages, settlements, towns of etraps and etrap centers for the period up to 2028.

Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhallyev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country as a whole.

As it was reported, these days cotton harvesting, sowing of wheat, appropriate work on cultivation of rich harvest of vegetables and other crops is being carried out in velayats at a proper level.

Within the framework of these activities, winter food crops are being tended. In Dashoguz and Lebap velayats rice fields are tended, in Mary velayat - sugar beet.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of timely and quality conduct of all agricultural works, giving specific instructions to accelerate the pace of cotton harvesting, ensure uninterrupted operation of agricultural machinery and cotton ginning enterprises.

The head of state also instructed to carry out a qualitative sowing campaign.

At the same time, the President of Turkmenistan gave instructions to carry out appropriate organizational work in velayats to plant winter potatoes, vegetables and other crops and harvest the grown crops without losses.

In addition, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to prepare for high-level events on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of independence of the Fatherland, as well as to strictly control the construction of new social and industrial facilities that are planned to be opened in the velayats this year.
