Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Committee on Economic Cooperation Hiroyuki Tsubai on June 6. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The sides noted the high level of interstate ties in the trade and economic sphere, where the activity of the committees on economic cooperation is of great importance. Ways to further expand partnership in this sphere were considered and the importance of high-level and high-level contacts was emphasized.

The interlocutors discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in oil and gas, chemical, agricultural and other spheres. It was noted that cooperation in the energy sector and in the gas chemical industry has great potential. The interlocutors discussed topical issues of carbon neutrality and reduction of methane emissions.
