Avaza, August 7 - Arzuw.news. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Robina Nabbanja, who arrived in the country to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The conference was organized jointly by the UN and Turkmenistan in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the visit would be the beginning of a new stage in interstate relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Uganda expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of holding such a large-scale international event on the Turkmen soil.
During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for developing bilateral partnership in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, energy and agricultural areas. Turkmenistan demonstrated interest in strengthening ties with African states.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan's commitment to intensify multilateral cooperation within the UN and other international structures. The Ugandan delegation will be given an opportunity to study Turkmenistan's achievements in the energy, gas chemical and other industrial sectors.
The Turkmen side confirmed its readiness to consider specific initiatives of Uganda to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.
