Ministerial Meeting on South-South Cooperation

Avaza, August 6 - Arzuw.news. A ministerial meeting on South-South cooperation within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the National Tourist Zone Avaza. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of ensuring access to modern technologies and know-how in landlocked developing countries. Special attention was paid to the formation of national policies in the areas of digitalization and innovation to accelerate structural reforms.

South-South cooperation brings together developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania on the principles of mutual respect, equality, solidarity and mutual benefit. The history of this partnership dates back to the 1955 Bandung Conference, which was the starting point for the formation of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Cooperation covers a wide range of areas: agriculture, industry, science, education, health, technology, infrastructure and energy. The Vienna Programme of Action emphasizes the importance of South-South cooperation for the economic growth of landlocked developing countries.

The Avaza Action Plan 2024-2034 reaffirms the important role of South-South and triangular cooperation in the development of international relations.
