Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan discuss expansion of cooperation

Baku hosted an official reception on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan, gathered representatives of state bodies and diplomatic corps. It reports MIC.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan Gurbanmamet Elyasov noted that relations between the countries are built on the principles of brotherhood and good neighborliness. He stressed the established tradition of successful cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov emphasized the commonality of historical, cultural and religious roots of the two nations. Special attention was paid to the prospects of cooperation in the energy sector and development of transit potential.

The Minister also noted that cooperation between the countries plays a key role in improving the efficiency of the Middle Corridor, the volume of transportation along which is steadily growing.
