The National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Mark von Pentz, President of the agricultural division of the American company John Deere. The meeting was held on September 26 in Ashgabat on the occasion of Turkmenistan's Independence Day. This is stated in the news report of the Watan program.
Von Pentz congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the national holiday and wished prosperity to the Turkmen people. He noted John Deere's aspiration to strengthen its positions in the promising Turkmen market and expressed gratitude for the trust.
In turn, the National Leader thanked the guest for warm congratulations and words of appreciation. Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty emphasized the importance of agricultural development for the economy and food security of Turkmenistan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke about modernization of the sector and introduction of advanced technologies. According to him, Turkmenistan is open for favorable cooperation with world business leaders.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the prospects of bilateral partnership. It was noted that this year the relations between Turkmenistan and John Deere are celebrating their 30th anniversary. Growing supplies of agricultural machinery testify to the deepening of cooperation. According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, John Deere machinery has proven itself in soil and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan. Training of Turkmen personnel is also an important area.
The meeting resulted in the confirmation of readiness to expand mutually beneficial partnership. This will contribute to further strengthening of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan.
