On November 28, representatives of Turkmenistan spoke online at the 28th session of the General Conference of the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (OPANAL). The Turkmen side was invited to the event in the position of an observer. This is reported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The session included reports from the Board of the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons OPANAL and presentations by experts from various member countries of the Agency.
The Agency's Secretary General outlined the main areas of activity: preservation of Latin America's nuclear-free status, expansion of the regulatory framework for cooperation in this area, and international partnership in the peaceful operation of nuclear energy.
