The visit included laying flowers at the monument of Makhtumkuli Fraghi in the square in front of the V. N. Tatishchev Astrakhan State University with the participation of Turkmen delegates, Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan G. Ilamanov, Minister of Education of the Astrakhan region M. Shalak and Turkmen students studying at the Astrakhan State University.

A delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the opening of the Museum of Makhtumkuli Fraghi on the territory of the Turkmen school in the village of Funtovo, Astrakhan Oblast. Valuable exhibits, including books of the poet, paintings depicting him, national Turkmen musical instruments, items of rural life and handicrafts were handed over to the new museum. A contest and exhibition of drawings on the theme "The treasure house of Makhtumkuli Fraghi's mind" was held among schoolchildren.
