The Turkmen embassy A round table was organized in Belgiumtimed to coincide with 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. In addition, this event in Brussels is dedicated to the year 2020, which passes under the motto "Turkmenistan - Birthplace of Neutrality". The main theme of the round table was cooperation for peace and sustainable progress.
Heads and delegates of diplomatic missions based in Brussels, as well as a number of key international organizations were invited to participate in the event. Such as the European Union and the Energy Charter Secretariat.
The meeting opened with a speech by the Turkmen Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium. He informed that Turkmenistan was successfully implementing a number of significant strategic projects, primarily in such areas as industry and innovation. The country is implementing all transformations based on the principles of neutrality and openness. The speaker also spoke about Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's recent video address to the delegates at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly. In it the President put forward important initiatives relating to the main spheres of interstate cooperation.
The EU Special Representative for the Central Asian Region P. Buriyan and Energy Charter Secretary General U. Rusnák also addressed the roundtable participants. In addition to congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality, the speakers also touched upon the fundamental areas of cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The participants also noted Turkmenistan's role in the development of good-neighborly and mutually beneficial relations in the region and around the world, which the state contributes to within the framework of its neutral status. This, in turn, helps maintain peace and stability in the region.
