52 thousand tons of melons and fruit crops are planned to be harvested by farmers of Balkan province of Turkmenistan

Workers of agro-industrial complex of Balkan velayat plan to harvest 52 thousand tons of melons and fruit crops this season. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

At present, work is already underway to harvest melons and watermelons. Farmers of Makhtumkuli etrap have grown a rich harvest of pomegranate, figs and walnuts. In Etrek etrap olives were harvested, farmers of Gizilarbat and Bereket etraps grew a good crop of fruit trees. The fields along the Karakum River produced a rich crop of melons of Vakharman, Gyzildepe, Gulyabi and Garrygyz varieties.

The products of farmers from the western region of the country are in demand throughout Turkmenistan. Melons and watermelons grown in the Balkan velayat are supplied to markets and trade centers of Turkmenistan in a wide assortment.
