On April 25, Ambassador of Turkmenistan S. Meredov and President of the Chamber of Commerce of Kyrgyzstan M. Sharshekeev met. During the high-level conversation, the Turkmen diplomat suggested organizing a joint business forum with Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that partnerships in trade between the two countries have recently strengthened significantly and the volume of trade transactions last year amounted to about 86 million dollars, which is three times higher compared to the same previous period. The main area of Kyrgyzstan's purchases from the Turkmen side is the products of greenhouses, particularly tomatoes.
Meredov also recalled agreements reached on the creation of a joint development fund, under which the construction of a Trade House of Turkmenistan in the Kyrgyz capital is planned.
In the course of negotiations, a date was set for a business forum to be held in June of this year.
