Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Najafi held talks on December 10, 2023. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In the course of the meeting the issues on priority directions of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
With a view to strengthening political and diplomatic ties, the sides noted the need to hold regular meetings at the highest and highest levels.
Within the framework of expansion of trade and economic cooperation, gas, transportation and electric power spheres were named as promising spheres. In this context, the special significance of the trade and economic events held in Ashgabat in November this year was noted.
In addition, the sides emphasized the need to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties based on the common historical, cultural and spiritual traditions of the friendly peoples.
