Turkmen gas has become an object of interest for Türkiye

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye Alparslan Bayraktar said that the country is interested in reaching an agreement with Turkmenistan on the supply of Turkmen gas through the swap system to Türkiye via Iran. This is reported by the Internet edition "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

The minister noted that Türkiye hopes to reach an agreement at the end of July this year and is actively studying the available opportunities. Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye signed a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation on the development of partnership in the field of natural gas in March this year.

In addition, in June 2024, an agreement was signed between Azerbaijani and Turkish oil and gas companies to supply Turkmen gas to Türkiye through the territories of Azerbaijan and other countries.
