Turkmenistan participates in a seminar on trafficking in cultural property

A Turkmen delegation is taking part in a seminar on combating illicit cross-border trafficking of cultural property in Antalya on September 2-4. This is reported by the Internet publication "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

Turkmenistan is represented at the training seminar by Chinar Rustemova, Executive Secretary of the National Committee of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, representatives of border and customs services, as well as staff of the State Museum of Turkmenistan.

In 2022, Turkmenistan joined the UNESCO International Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property. During the seminar, Mr. Ch. Rustemova plans to raise the issues of joint activities with UNESCO and OSCE in the framework of the Convention and highlight the activities carried out in the country in this area.
