Representatives of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed topical issues of establishing cooperation on the export of products of Kyrgyz producers through Turkmen ports on the Caspian Sea. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."
M. Chakyev, Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, participated in the negotiations from the Turkmen side, which were held in the videoconference format. Kyrgyzstan was represented by Mr. B. Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan.
The sides discussed issues of Turkmen-Kyrgyz relations in the spheres of energy, agro-industrial complex, foreign trade, infrastructure and transportation logistics. They emphasized the importance of increasing the volume of cargo transportation through the Caspian ports. The interlocutors also touched upon the topic of reducing tariffs for transportation services to increase the capacity of the Turkmenbashi port.
