The ninth meeting of the subcommittee on energy of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee was held in the building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan. The Chinese delegation at the meeting was headed by Zhang Xianhua, chairman of the Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the special importance of strengthening partnership relations in the gas sector, noting the need to intensify them. The Turkmen side expressed readiness to increase the volume of natural gas supplies to China. The development of business contacts between the two countries was named as a priority area of cooperation.
The talks resulted in the signing of the Memorandum, which envisages the development of bilateral mutually beneficial relations between China and Turkmenistan in the energy sector.
