Last weekend, the ITEA Education Center, located in the Berkarar Business Center, became a venue for a large-scale technological event. StartUp Academy with the support of USAID organized a two-day hackathon that brought together 67 talented developers united in 15 teams.
The central task of the event was to develop a real-time orchard monitoring system for MIWE Agroholding. The participants worked under the guidance of six experienced mentors, and their achievements were evaluated by a competent jury of five experts from the business and IT community.
Jeffrey Skarin, USAID Representative in Turkmenistan, noted the high level of the presented projects. "Such events play a key role in the development of the country's technology sector," he emphasized in his speech.
At the end of the intensive work, the three winning teams received cash prizes. The event was supported by well-known companies: Belet Film, Ak Sahypa, Miwe, Aýdym.com, Iş Nokady, Görogly Fitness and MCT Agency, which provided gifts for all participants.
As part of the hackathon, a presentation of the new Startup Hub website was held. The organizers also shared plans for the future, announcing the launch of the Acceleration Program and a conference on the development of Internet businesses in Turkmenistan, scheduled for 2025.
The event clearly demonstrated the growing potential of Turkmenistan's IT specialists and their readiness to create innovative solutions for various sectors of the economy.
