President of Turkmenistan holds working meeting on development of agro-industrial complex

On December 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhalyev and provincial khakims to review the pace of work in the agricultural sector in the regions of the country, TDH reports.

During the meeting, the khakims of Akhal velayat S.Soltanmyradov, Balkan velayat H.Ashirmyradov, Dashoguz velayat D.Babayev, Lebap velayat M.Annanepesov, Mary velayat B.Orazov reported on the state of affairs in the agricultural lands of the region.

As it was noted, in order to grow a rich harvest next year on wheat and cotton fields the lands are being fed with mineral fertilizers, repair and preparation of agricultural machinery and units to be used in the spring sowing season is underway.

Work is under way in the country's velayats to organize festive cultural events on the occasion of the New Year. Measures are being taken to create food abundance in the region's markets and stores and to ensure the high quality of services provided to the population.

In his report, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhallyev reported that the fields of velayats in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology, in particular, feeding with mineral fertilizers, and agricultural machinery and units are effectively used.

To prepare areas for the cotton sowing of the coming year, plowing and land leveling and feeding with mineral fertilizers, as well as repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery and units are carried out.

Appropriate measures are taken to harvest sugar beet in Mary province in due time.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure control over the quality and organization of seasonal agrarian activities, and ordered to ensure strict compliance with the norms of agricultural techniques in the care of wheat.

The President of Turkmenistan also instructed to keep under control the preparations for the organized and timely spring sowing season in accordance with the requirements.
