August 4, 2025, Avaza. Delegations from thirty-two landlocked developing countries are arriving at Turkmenbashi International Airport to attend the Third UN LLDC Conference. The event, which starts tomorrow in Avaza, will be one of the largest international forums held in Turkmenistan. This is reported by Turkmenistan's official media.
A special welcome desk for official delegations has been set up at Turkmenbashi Airport, and the Government of Turkmenistan has organized transfers between the airport and hotels in the Avaza tourist zone. Some participants also arrived via the capital's Ashgabat airport with subsequent connecting flights.
Among the high-ranking participants arriving at the conference are Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli, Vice President of Malawi Michael Bizwik Usi, Vice President of Gambia Muhammad B.S. Jallow, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan Dina Nath Dungyel. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhallyev will take part in the conference on behalf of Turkmenistan.
The conference will bring together representatives of countries with a total population of six hundred and six million people. In addition to official state delegations, delegates from the European Union, UN specialized agencies, intergovernmental organizations and accredited non-governmental organizations are expected to arrive in Avaza.
All registered conference participants received free visas to enter Turkmenistan. Registration of participants at the conference center began today and will continue until August seventh. Each State delegation is allocated four seats in the main hall: two at the table and two in the back row.
Specialized forums are held in Avaza in parallel with the main conference. The Youth and Parliamentary Forums opened today, and the Private Sector Forum starts tomorrow. The organizers have also planned more than thirty thematic side events with the participation of various international organizations and civil society.
Weather conditions in Avaza are favorable for the event - the daytime temperature is within thirty to forty degrees Celsius, which is normal for August in this region of Turkmenistan.
The conference will last until August 8 and will conclude with the adoption of an updated 2034 Agenda for Action, which will set the development priorities of landlocked countries for the next decade.
