Halk Maslakhaty to discuss new law on neutrality

The Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan is preparing for a regular meeting on the eve of the 34th anniversary of the country's independence, which is celebrated within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust. On the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the meeting will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the results of the work done and consider proposals for the development of key sectors of the economy.

Deputies will discuss plans for the development of industry, agriculture, health care, sports and education. The action plan for the coming year will be developed in accordance with the state programs "Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State" and "President of Turkmenistan's Program of Socio-Economic Development of the Country".

Special attention will be paid to the consideration of the draft of the new Constitutional Law "On the Legal Basis of Peace and Confidence Policy of Neutral Turkmenistan" initiated by the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty. The document is aimed at legislative consolidation of the principles of permanent neutrality in the context of the approaching 30th anniversary of this status of Turkmenistan.

As part of the preparations for the anniversary of neutrality, the Law "On the Establishment of the Commemorative Medal "Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna" has already been adopted. The upcoming session is also planned to recognize the merits of workers who make a significant contribution to the prosperity of the state.
