Turkmenistan awards foreigners with a medal for the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on awarding three foreign citizens with the jubilee medal "Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna" in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi. The document was signed on September 19 in Ashgabat. The awarding is timed to coincide with the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality.

The medal was awarded to Khoja Murad Ata Murad, chairman of the Turkmen Cultural Society in the UAE, Abdul Rahman Ahmadi, chairman of the Makhtumkuli Fraghi Afghan Turkmen Cultural Society, and Abdul Hakim Nasseri, an individual member of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World from Germany.

The basis for the award was special merits in the development of cultural dialogue between Turkmenistan and the world community and popularization of the creative work of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. All awardees are associated with the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World through various foreign branches or individual membership.
