Turkmenistan and Korea's Daewoo discuss new projects in petrochemicals and health care

On September 17, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Executive Vice President of South Korean corporation "Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd" Cho Seung-Il. During the meeting, Turkmenistan's aspiration to strengthen long-term and mutually beneficial partnership with the Republic of Korea in key economic spheres was noted. The parties highly appreciated the successful cooperation with Daewoo Company, in particular, the conclusion of a contract for the construction of a complex for the production of mineral fertilizers at the chemical plant in Turkmenabat. They also paid attention to the implementation of the project by Korean companies to create a modern medical cluster in the city of Arkadag.

Following the negotiations, the parties confirmed their intention to increase joint work and realize new promising projects.
