The fourteenth volume of the fundamental scientific work by Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty House of Parliament, has been published in Turkmenistan. The work titled "Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan" was presented today at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. This is reported in the electronic version of the newspaper "Turkmenistan".
The new volume of the book describes 118 medicinal plants growing on the Turkmen soil.
In the introduction to his book, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov notes that over 2000 medicinal plants growing on the Turkmen soil are used in folk medicine, and over 500 of them are considered endemics of the flora of Turkmenistan. Therefore, taking into account the ancient traditions of Turkmen folk medicine associated with the endemic medicinal plants of Turkmenistan, he expresses the view that he considers them worthy of inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
