UNICEF Head of Mission presents credentials to the President of Turkmenistan

Ms. Jalpu Ratna, Head of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) Office in Turkmenistan, presented her credentials to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on July 17, TDH reports.

The President of Turkmenistan congratulated Jalpa Ratna on her appointment as head of the UN Children's Fund office in Turkmenistan and wished her great success in her work in this responsible position.

During the meeting, the established relations between Turkmenistan and the Children's Fund, whose partnership is carried out within the framework of the UNICEF country program for Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, were emphasized.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, ten documents have been signed this year with Turkmenistan's ministries and agencies, including a work plan in the areas of child health, nutrition, early development, social security and inclusive education, and the legislative framework for child protection is constantly being improved. This is evidenced by the approved National Plan of Action for the realization of children's rights for 2023-2028.

Noting the great importance of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, established on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People Hero-Arkadag, the Turkmen leader emphasized that care for children, formation of a healthy and broad-minded young generation is one of the main goals of the country's policy.
