On Tuesday, April 11, a video conference was held with representatives of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the head of the customs post "Alat". This was reported in the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The conference discussed the prospects of reconstruction and modernization of the Farap and Alat customs posts on the Turkmen-Uzbek border in order to increase their throughput capacity.
In connection with the positive dynamics of the development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations, the measures to be taken to increase the capacity of up to a thousand cars per day through the border without causing congestion were discussed and approved.
The introduction of the TIR-EPD system, as well as equipping customs points with modern technical means of inspection contribute to the acceleration of customs procedures at the borders with neighboring countries.
