Batyr Amanov: Turkmenistan is the largest player in the Asian oil and gas market

Batyr Amanov, Chairman of the State Concern Turkmengaz, said at an international forum in Dubai that Turkmenistan possesses more than 70 billion tons of oil, ranking fourth in the world in terms of oil and gas reserves. This was reported by the newspaper Nebit-gaz.

In his speech at the Forum, the Chairman of Turkmengaz noted that the Galkynysh field is particularly promising. He said that currently a decision has been made to develop the field in stages.

Batyr Amanov focused investors' attention on the third stage of development of the Galkynysh field. Gas from the field is planned to be supplied through the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

Turkmengaz presented a project consisting of seven stages of development and exploitation of the Galkynysh field.
