The Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea held a regular meeting. Participants gathered in the building of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers on specialized issues, as well as heads of relevant government ministries and agencies.
The participants discussed the results of work over the past 2020 and outlined the key vectors of activity for this year 2021.
Among the topics discussed were preparations for the upcoming sixth Caspian Summit to be held in our country. The deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the head of the country's foreign policy department, Ramil Meredov, stressed that thanks to the visionary leadership of the national leader, Turkmenistan continues to actively advocate for a decision on the Caspian Sea issues.
Thus, the state has already played a key role in improving the contractual and legal basis of partnership in the Caspian region. This allowed to develop further cooperation with all countries of the region in the international legal field, taking into account the environmental component.
Other aspects of Turkmenistan's activities in the Caspian Sea were also discussed at the meeting, including partnership relations with organizations operating in the region, as well as with countries that have access to the Caspian Sea. Such cooperation is especially important in the light of the development of transit-transport communication and economic integration.
