Meredov and the head of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council discussed expanding cooperation in six key sectors

On June 8, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks with Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council, during which the parties identified priority areas of bilateral economic partnership.

The meeting focused on six strategic areas of cooperation: trade and economic direction, fuel and energy complex, transport and communication sector, industrial sector, agro-industrial complex and high-tech solutions.

The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said that the government was ready to actively develop trade and economic ties with American business. Meredov noted the significant contribution of US companies to the modernization of the national economy over the years of cooperation.

The diplomats also explored prospects for deepening the partnership in three additional areas: cyber security, the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies, and the development of educational programs.

A special role in the talks was played by the discussion of the functions of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council as a platform for strengthening interstate dialog. Representatives of both sides emphasized their interest in the progressive development of strategic partnership.

The meeting resulted in mutual understanding of the need to intensify contacts between the Turkmen and American business circles for the implementation of joint projects in priority sectors of the economy.
